Senior Java Software Engineer

This is your role

Join our engineering team as a Senior Java Software Engineer and play an essential role in the growth of Nevis. In this role you will develop and maintain critical backend components managing user identities and federation, which are part of a complex and highly customizable system providing advanced features for both of our on-prem and SaaS products. You will work in an international team, collaborating with colleagues from different locations and functions (engineering, product management, customer support, consulting, etc.). If you are interested in cybersecurity, CIAM (customer identity and access management), the related protocols and standards, and want to work on this increasingly critical part of the IT industry, we are looking forward to your application.

Location: Budapest or Berlin (you are expected to reside at one of these job locations)

In your daily work, you will…

design and implement efficient solutions for complex business cases
integrate new features and technologies into existing software systems and architectures
do code reviews, take part in technical design and planning
use Agile development frameworks, TDD and modern software development methodologies
provide L3 support for your components
potentially travel to other Nevis locations based on business needs

This is you

You will be successful in this role, if you have…

5+ years of experience in Java backend development
solid WS, Spring, JPA (Hibernate) expertise
relational database knowledge both in design and implementation
software quality and security awareness
university degree (MSc/BSc) in Computer Science or a related STEM field
fluent verbal and written English language skills

Nice to have but not required:

German language skills
some experience with Angular or Struts framework
identity and access management knowledge (SAML, OAuth, OIDC, etc.)
